TGIF!
I hope you're all having a great day! I can't wait until Monday to read your sonnets and listen to you perform your poems! It should be quite entertaining!! :)

We are going to have a special visitor in Wednesday morning. Fadda is a refugee from Liberia and she is kind enough to come in to share her story with us. In preparation for her visit, you will do a search on Liberia. What issues facing the people of Liberia might cause one to flee his/her own country for another? What challenges might you face upon arrival in a new country?. Please respond with some possible reasons why a person from Liberia might seek refugee status elsewhere and some possible questions to ask her. It promises to be an interesting morning.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you all on Monday!!

Salut! What a game last night, ladies! Congratulations on a great season!

Grade 7 - this afternoon I have some on-line games for you to play. (Click on the left side bar - MA FAMILLE ). Begin with the flashcards. You will see it is the same vocabulary we are using right now. You can flip each one over until you've gone through the entire stack. Once you are comfortable with the vocabulary, go onto the games. You will find matching, Concentration and word searches (just click and drag over the hidden words.)

If you are done exploring that site and Mr. Kirkpatrick needs to give you more work, you can begin working on a simple phone conversation with two partners. If you weren't here because of basketball, go with someone who was here for the notes. You will call a friend to tell him/her that we have a French test tomorrow (Nous avons un test francais demain.) Your friend's mom, dad, sister or brother will answer the phone. You will need to greet eachother (Comment ca va?) and later, you must ask to speak with your friend (Est-ce que ________ est la?). Greet your friend and then give your friend his/her message and then give a final farewell( a demain, salut, au revoir, plus tard). Write out your script and then practice it.

Grade 8 - you will begin your project soon. You will be putting together a scrapbook, poster board, slideshow, etc on how you stay healthy. First of all, you can have some fun exploring a site with some of the necessary vocabulary and play some games. (Click on the left sidebar EN FORME). Begin with the flashcards. You can flip each one over until you've gone through the entire stack. Once you are comfortable with the vocabulary, go onto the games. You will find matching, Concentration and word searches (just click and drag over the hidden words.)

Work hard and have a great afternoon!

Good morning!
This morning you are going to have the chance to share your poetic voice with the class. Your task will be to find a poem, practice it, perform it. You will work with a partner or a small group. You can search the sea of poetry available to you on the internet or in the poetry books one the In/Out Homework Table. It can be serious or humorous - long or short. Once you decide on a poem, you need to decide on how to deliver it. Will you take turns? Will you read it together? Will you adjust your speed? Your volume? Will you add sound effects? Will you bring in props? Costumes?
I found a few links to get you started but there are so many sites out there for you to explore.

Hi Folks!
We've wrapped up our William Bell unit and you've now been hired by a big-time movie production company. You are in charge of making the movie version of your favourite William Bell novel. You have a lot of responsibility; you are in charge of casting and merchandising. First, which movie are you going to produce and why? Who will you cast for the main roles of your movie? Justify your decisions. You are also in charge of creating a merchandise line to come out with the movie. Describe the items you are going to produce? ( toys, board games, video games, trading cards, clothing, etc.) Remember : your future with this company depends on the success of this movie!! Good luck!!
