This morning we started our new novels. I'm really excited about both of them as I know you will not be able to put them down once you start! Who is the protagonist in your novel and discuss your reactions to him so far. Describe the novel's setting and the protagonist's home life.
Have a safe and happy Halloween - see you all on Wednesday!!

I researched the Boot Camp Sagewalk.Sage walk is a wilderness camp directed to troubled teens dealing with anything from drugs and alcohol to ADHD. I think this would be very affective because it breaks people down, but then builds them back up. A lot of teens who go there struggle with the physical challenges, but more so with the emotional challenges that come thier way. I think this would be very, very affective to any teens who go there.

Good morning Grade 8,
We have finished the novel Daniel's Story. Did you know the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum commissioned Carol Matas to write this novel. They wanted children to see the horrors of the Holocaust from another child's eyes. They have a permanent display at the museum, showing different aspects of Daniel's journey. Please go to the site and respond with your reactions. Is the display similar to what you imagined as you read the novel? Do you think this would be a valuable experience for young people?
